The shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is one of the most visited pilgrim sites in India. Situated at a height of 5,300 ft., the site is located inside a cave in a hill. This cave temple is at a distance of 61 kms from Jammu and the last 13 kms of the way have to be negotiated on foot by the yatris, as the devotees are called. LTC NER North East India Tour Information | Leave Travel Concession India

CCS (LTC) Rules, 1988 and 2008 - Relaxation for travel by air to visit NER:

The undersigned is directed to say that in relaxation of CCS (LTC) Rules, 1988, the Government have decided to permit Government servants to travel by air to North Eastern Region on LTC as follows:-


(i) Group A and Group B Central Government employees will be entitled to travel by Air from their place of posting or nearest airport to a city in the NER or nearest airport .


(ii) Other categories of employees will be entitled to travel by air to a city in the NER from Guwahati or Kolkata.


(iii) All Central Government employees will be allowed Conversion of one block of Home Town LTC into LTC for destinations in NER.


(iv) The parents and/or step parents who are wholly dependents on the govt. employees shall be included in the definition of family for the purpose of LTC, irrespective of whether they are residing with the govt. employees or not.

4. In their application to the staff serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, these orders issue after consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.


5. NER for LTC includes Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalay, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkam.


6. No Govt. Employee can tavel by Helicopter On LTC, only in economy (Y) class in a passenger plane of airlines, even in private airlines.


7. LTC is not admissible to visit a place outside India.


8. A question has been raised whether LTC is admissible during the period of suspension. It is clarified that a Government servant under suspension cannot avail of LTC as he cannot get any leave including casual leave during the period of supension. As he continues to be in service during the period of suspension, members of his family are entitled to LTC.


9. Under Central Government Rules, a Government servant can draw advance in respect of the journey proposed to be performed under the Leave Travel Concession scheme by himself and/or by members of his family 60 days before the proposed date of the outward journey. He should however produce railway cash receipts within ten days of the drawl of the advance to the competent authority to show that he has actually utilized the amount to purchase tickets. These orders are applicable to All India Service officers also, who are governed by the Central Rules.


10. The Central Government have decided that in the case of Leave Travel Concession to visit any place in India (other than home town), once in a block of four years, the reimbursement of fare may be allowed for the entire distance both ways without any deduction in respect of the first 400/160 kms as at present . Leave Travel Concession to home town shall also be admissible irrespective of the distance between the headquarters of the Government Servant and his home-town once in a block of two calander years.

1. LTC Rules is allowed all Government servants irrespective of the distance between headquarters and their home town.
2. LTC Rules is allowed Hometown" means the town, village or any other place declared as such by the servant and accepted by the controlling officer.
3. LTC Rules is allowed only to those who have completed one year of service on the date of journey.
4. LTC Rules is allowed for self and family.
5. LTC Rules is allowed only to the family (in the case of an employee under suspension).
6. LTC Rules is allowed to journey to “Home Town” once in a block of two years.
7. LTC Rules is allowed journey to “Any place in India” once in a block of four years.
8. LTC Rules is allowed to expression "any place in India" will cover any place within the territory of India whether it is on the mainland, or overseas.
9. LTC Rules is allowed journey to “Any place in India” in lieu of one journey to Home Town.
10. LTC Rules is allowed availing during all leave periods
(Earn/Casual/S.Casual/Study/Maternity/Paternity).
11. LTC Rules is allowed all journeys to travel by Rail/Road/Air/Ship.
12. LTC Rules is allowed privilege not availed during a block may be availed before end of the next year.

19. LTC Rules is allowed Grade Pay holders of Rs.2400, 2600 and 2800 can go AC-II Tier class by train.
20. LTC Rules is allowed Grade Pay holders of below Rs.2400 can go AC-III Tier / First Class / AC-Chair Car class by train.

Vaishno Devi Yatra


Vaishno Devi Mandir is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Shakti, located in the hill of TRIKUTA, Jammu and Kashmir, India.

The temple is near the town of Katra, in Udhampur district in the state of Jammu and Kashmir at a distance of about 60 kilometer from Jammu. It is one of the most revered places of worship in Northern India. The shrine is at an altitude of 5200 feet and a distance of approximately 12 kilometers (7.45 miles)

The temple of Vaishno Devi is dedicated to Vaishnavi, the human manifestation of Goddess Shakti. Within the temple is the deity in the form of a five and half feet tall rock with three Pindies or heads. It is written that the goddess to achieve her destiny of finally merging with Lord Vishnu assumed the form of a human and was born as Vaishnavi.

The total length of the holy Cave is about ninety eight feet. It’s a symbol of a large number of Gods and Goddesses of the Hindu. Pilgrims to the Vaishno Devi temple also visit the famous Bhairo Nath temple. According to Hindu mythology, if you do not visit this temple then your journey is considered incomplete. This area is habitat to a large number of monkeys.

Golden Temple Tour



The oldest Gurudwara and most religious building for Sikh, Golden Temple is situated in Amritsar Panjab, also known as Shri Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib.


Amrit Sarovar is the name of pool which surrounds Golden Temple. The city name Amritsar is based on the pool’s name Amrit Sarovar. Guru Granth Sahib the Sikhism holiest book is all time present in the temple premises. By following certain rules of Golden temple, no restriction any caste people can visit this place. In the center of Amrit Sarovar a 67ft square platform on which the Sri Harmandir Sahib is built, the temple is 40.5ft in square. It has four doors in each directions east, west, north, and south. Its architecture is a wonder in the World; it is a harmony between Hindus and Muslims.


Jallianwala Bagh: In the demand of freedom, peaceful people gathered at Jallianwala Bagh in 1919, the British Police fired on these people and killed hundreds of children, women and men on the place. A cruelty tale of colonial rule becomes alive by watching the bullet marks on the boundary walls.
